Tomorrow will mark 2 weeks since our boiler (South Africans: "geyzer", Americans: "water heater") went bye-bye. And, if by any chance you've been watching the Weather Channel, you'll note this coincides precisely with the coldest spell of our winter! Great, just great!

So, after a few very uncomfortable days at home, friends loaned us a standalone oil heater. It's an amazing little thing -- heats the whole house. We don't, however, keep it on overnight, so getting up in the -3 degree (celcius) mornings is a tad ...well... uncomfortable.

Hopefully not too long now. I've got the quotes and they should be fixing it soon-ish.
