Wimbledon 2007

(posted by Elizma)

Leon and I got two centre court tickets for Wimbledon yesterday (4 July) in the national ballot. It was supposed to be the men's quarter finals, but the bad weather this year meant they had quite a few catch-up games to play. I took my mom, dad and sister - we purchased two ground admission tickets and took turns to enjoy the tennis on centre court.

Obviously we had to treat ourselves to some strawberries and cream - which was very reasonable priced to my surprise. Luckily play was only suspended for an hour and we got to see great players such as Andy Roddick, Maria Sharapova, Venus Williams and Justine Henin.

Madame Tussauds

My mom, dad, sister and I went to Madame Tussauds. I was a bit disappointed. They changed it since the last time and it was quite easy to miss some of the figures between the thousands of people. Luckily we only paid half price for the tickets - I wouldn't recommend it at £25 per person!

North Devon

(posted by Elizma)

We spent the loveliest weekend in North Devon - Leon and I've been before and we'll definitely go again. Our self-catering apartment was the best and most luxurious we've ever stayed in. The views were glorious, but we were a bit unlucky with the weather.

We spent some time in Clovelly and drove around Illfracombe, Lynton and Lynmouth as well as Exmoor National Park. We also walked at Heddon's Valley to Heddon's Mouth and went up a hill in a water-driven cable car - very interesting!

Leon's Birthday

For the first time since we've been in the UK (more than 6 years) Leon's had both his and my parents as well as his sister Tania around at his birthday. We celebrated in our favourite Chinese restaurant. More photos here...

Bath and Bradford-on-Avon

(posted by Elizma)

We drove to Bath for the day and spent most of the morning in the picturesque town of Bradford-on-Avon where we had excellent fish and chips for lunch.
