21 December - A day for celebration!

(posted by Elizma)

Today was the shortest day of the year - which means only one thing: from tomorrow the days will become longer. Darkness won't attack at 15:30, slowly but surely the light will win again. Definitely a good enough reason to celebrate in my books!

Our Paris photos

Here are the photos of our recent trip to Paris! Click on the photo to go to our Flickr page, where you can view the album.

Hint: There is a slideshow option available here, but this won't include captions (hint-hint Flickr!). Otherwise, to view photos and captions, use the 'next/previous' thumbnails to the right of the main picture. Have fun!

Bonjour Paris!

(posted by Elizma)

We just had a lovely weekend in Paris with our friends, Colin and Lizl. It was very cold - cold enough for us to have to buy Leon a warmer jacket. Leon's also made it to the top of the Eiffel this time round. (He has a fear of heights although he has skydived and isn't afraid of rollercoasters!) As it was Leon's 3rd and my 4th time there, we weren't running around the sights - which was great. We just strolled and drank loads of hot chocolate. We also spent a morning in the beautiful gardens of the Palace of Versaille. All in all a very relaxing weekend in very good company.

Day 2

(posted by Elizma)

I've been in my new job for two days now and I think I will be very happy there. The people are extremely friendly and even the small bit of the role I've seen so far has grabbed me. Only time will tell. Thanks for all the well wishes. For those of you who want to see what the company does - DPA Communications.

Back to the salt mines...

(posted by Elizma)

Yes, I'm starting my new job tomorrow. It is as a communication consultant at DPA Communications. Scarily enough, I'm not sure what I'm going to do exactly, but I was very comfortable with the fit and what they do so I'm excited regardless. It happened a bit quicker than I thought, but Leon's relieved ;-) I must say that it's still not reality going back to work after more than 2 months and I have to keep on reminding myself that I am. It all feels a bit strange...
